The chief advisor of Dastaan Foundation, Professor Dr. Saroj Dhal is a graduate from Jawaharlal Nehru University and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. out of Delhi University. A humanitarian at heart, Dr. Dhal is an academician and a researcher. He has traveled extensively across India and abroad, networking with global experts and researching on several social topics touching the real problems of the world. Staying true to his roots in Orissa, he has a great command over Oriya, Hindi, and English, and communicates in several other Indian languages. 

He specialises in Industrial Sociology; Migration and Diaspora Studies; Social Theories and Indian Society. To share his knowledge, he has been invited to several International Conferences across the World, including those organised by California State University, United States of America; National University of Singapore, Singapore and Doshisha University, Japan; and has been, on several occasions, invited to the International Sociological Association Conference organised by the Kyoto University, Japan. Having published over two dozen papers, and contributed to academic texts, columns, and journals, he is a passionate researcher.  He is the beacon of support that lights up our lives with a strong ray of hope; a person who imparts his goodwill to everybody around him and is known for his cheerfulness and high spirited attitude. His motto in life is to make people smile, and these smiles is what keep him going.
